The objective of turnkey heat test bench is to provide state-of-the-art technologies integrated in one single equipment for material characterization
at elementary level for composite process development. The purpose of this kindof test bench is to measure the heat transfer in a carbon fibre sample heated by different types of heat source (laser, hot gas torch or pulsed light). Samples used are with different thicknesses and are composed by layers with
different orientations. This compact equipment integrates all components (user friendly HMI, control units, data acquisition system) and brings precision and safety with very low maintenance. The characteristics of the heat test bench are as follows: Sample size: 300 x 300 mm, Observation speed: 100 mm/sec, Heating sources: 2kW laser, pulse light, hot gas torch, …, Data acquisition via infrared camera, thermocouples and optic fibers, Siemens control hardware.
Static and dynamic tests can be realized. The test bench is able to integrate samples composed by different materials, e.g. Prepreg thermosets, Dry fiber thermosets or Thermoplastics.
